yoga

I still taste illness in my mouth – you know, that dry, ‘bland’ taste whenever one gets down with a fever or something. Dun feel like popping a Panadol for every little thing. Hope it wears off over the weekend…
Went for a yoga class at Sugden Sports Centre this afternoon. Honestly, the only sense of fulfilment it did give me was for the fact that I’ve finally got myself exercising. I thought the instructor talked too much. Havin gotten used to G’s (whom I took lessons under, together with WY back in Ipoh) tranquil music and soothing tone of voice, this guy’s matter-of-fact manner didn’t go down too well. He’d offer an explanation for every stretch we are to perform, giving us the low-down on which muscles it would work/what organs it may affect yada yada… Yup, you sensed right. I felt quite irritated. Cos it made it difficult for me to concentrate, was distracting, too much noise. Well but I must admit it can be useful information. I just couldn’t find the time/multitasking powers to digest it. Perhaps it just takes some getting used to. Initially, I was similarly confused and frustrated when G went on with the steps, seldom stopping to explain or clearly telling us when to inhale/exhale. But WY explained to me that in that way, she makes us to put in more effort + determination to learn. And G did say that with yoga, you should go at your own pace. So I had to make a conscious effort to push myself yet know when to stop, understanding it takes perseverance and not bullish forcefulness. 萬事起頭難 (Many things start on a difficult note). By the second lesson, I felt more fulfilled. All said, I still find this guy’s talking distractting haha, so I’ll attend a class under another instructor next week.
